Actress arrested for allegedly playing loud music at night, threatening cops
Actor Anjum Nayar has been arrested for threatening and abusing policemen who came to her house in suburban Andheri for allegedly playing loud music late on Sunday night.
In a video recorded by the police, the actress is seen hurling abuses at the policemen who are standing outside her door.
The model-turned-actor was arrested and booked under IPC sections 294 (obscene acts and songs), 353 (deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation), police said.

According to police, Anjum, who resides on the 20th floor of the 'Samartha Angan' building in Andheri, was playing music at a high volume on Sunday night following which irate neighbours complained to police. Two policemen came to her apartment at about 2 am on Monday and asked her to reduce the volume. She began abusing the policemen and threatened them, police added.
She was detained on Monday afternoon and placed under arrest. A fine was also slapped on her. She will be produced before the court on Tuesday.

FIR against two former Goa CMs in illegal mining case
Two former chief ministers of the Congress, a senior NCP leader and former forests and mines officials department were Monday booked in an illegal mining case by the state vigilance department, officials said.
The first information report (FIR) has been filed on a 2011 complaint filed by activist Sudeep Tamhankar, who is now a spokesperson of the state Congress unit.
The vigilance department's FIR names former chief ministers Digambar Kamat and Pratapsing Rane, senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Prafulla Hede, and key forest and mines department officials among others for allowing Hede to conduct mining illegally at the Godoavadae Javaichem Upor and Nagonim Buroda concession, located in close proximity of the Bhagwaan Mahavir wildlife sanctuary, 70 km south east of Panaji.

Asked to react to the complaint, Congress spokesperson Reginaldo Lourenco said: "I am yet to see the complaint. We will respond to this tomorrow (Tuesday)."
The Supreme Court is already hearing a case related to the illegal mining scandal here.

Founded on November 11, 1989, Anushruti is a humble social initiative of its own kind, growing under the aegis of IIT Roorkee. Committed towards delivering quality education to specially abled children in and around Roorkee, this NGO has risen as one of the finest initiatives at national level. Since hearing impaired is a hidden disability, often parents do not recognize the seriousness of it till the child is much older and crossed early learning years. . On recognizing these needs, Anushruti - formally known as theb ‘Roorkee School for the Deaf’ was founded with the aim of acting as a catalyst to provide services to the hearing impaired. In an age when a pre-primary school for the hearing impaired is still a rare concept, Anshruti opened its doors and provides full fledged 10 + 2 education for through ORAL AURAL TECHNIQUES using various assistive technologies, device and teaching aids. Anushruti also organizes a number of skill development / vocational training programs like miming, choreography, dramatics, photography, computer, photography, hospitality, apparel and accessory designing and craft and visual design etcto improve skills of the students in various vocational fields. . Anushruti is currently providing free diagnostic, audiometric and speech therapy facilities to the Community as ‘Service to the Society’.
The academic infrastructure consists of development and creation of engineering workshops for wood work, tailoring, designing etc. Development of a play zone and creation of an e-library with adequate state of the art computing facilities are provided to the students.
